Guides and MoreWillamette River Field Guide The Willamette River Field Guide is the first book written solely about the Willamette River. Its ecological condition, places to visit, history, conservation and more are packed into this engaging narrative that is replete with new color photography, as well as multiple historic photos. It was published by Timber Press in March of 2009. The book travels the river system from the pristine waters of Waldo Lake, a key headwater area, to where the Willamette meets the Columbia. Along the way, each chapter provides a distinct look at a river section, with maps at the beginning of each chapter that can be utilized by the river traveler, whether by boat, car, bike or foot. You can order the book by going to the Timber Press website at www.timberpress.com. Also check out a review in the Oregonian below. Other ProjectsTravis is now beginning work on a book about the John Day River, one of Oregon’s wild and scenic gems.
